| WhatsApp Business API | Sending number, template name and category, message ID. |

Message status
How do I check whether a message was delivered?
Open the delivery report. Each message shows sent, delivered, read or failed; the API pushes the same status by webhook to a URL you choose.
Sent
Handed to the operator or platform, not yet confirmed on the handset.
Delivered
Confirmed on the recipient's phone. This is what you pay for.
Read
Opened by the recipient. Reported on WhatsApp and RCS; SMS has no read receipt.
Failed
Not delivered, with the reason reported. Not charged.
Why a message does not arrive
Promotional SMS outside the rules
Promotional SMS reaches non-DND numbers only, between 10 AM and 9 PM by default; anything else is filtered. Transactional SMS goes at any hour, DND numbers included.
Text that differs from the DLT template
Both SMS types need a DLT-registered header and template; a message that does not match is blocked. Unicode (regional-language) SMS fits 70 characters per part, not 160.
The handset or the app
RCS reaches about 95% of Android handsets in India via Google Messages, and Apple supports it from iOS 18; other handsets get the SMS fallback. WhatsApp templates need Meta's approval before they send.
Escalation
How do I escalate a support issue?
Ask for your named account manager. Every account has one, who knows its templates, routes and sending patterns; open tickets go to them.
Support first
Phone, email or form. We trace the message IDs you send and report what we find.
Your named account manager
Open tickets and anything touching setup, routes or billing move to your account manager, who keeps you updated.
When the platform decides
A template Meta rejects, an RCS agent Google has not approved, a header an operator blocks: we tell you which, and what to change.
