A WhatsApp API provider in India is the company that connects your business number to Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform and bills you for the messages you send. Meta’s own fee is the same whichever provider you choose, so what separates one WhatsApp API provider from another is the price it charges you, the monthly fee and the tools around it.

This comparison is written by UDO, one of the five. That is why every figure below links to the page it came from: you can check each one in about a minute.

Method

How did we compare these WhatsApp API providers?

We compared every WhatsApp API provider on the same five published numbers — monthly fee, marketing rate, utility rate, authentication rate and billing currency — and then totalled the monthly cost at 10,000, 50,000 and 1,00,000 marketing messages.

Where a provider sells several plans, we used the cheapest one that can send broadcasts, on monthly billing where it is offered. Where a provider does not publish a number, we say so rather than estimate it.

  • Published prices only. Every rate comes from the provider’s own pricing page or rate card, read on 18 September 2026 — not from sales quotes or review sites.
  • India, rupee rates. Rates are for messages sent to Indian numbers. Gupshup’s self-serve plan bills in US dollars, so its fee is shown in dollars.
  • The same volumes for everyone. Totals use marketing messages because that is where the bill is largest; utility and authentication rates are compared per message.
  • Taxes as published. Interakt states its prices exclude tax; confirm with any provider whether 18% GST is added to the figures below.
Side by side

How do the five WhatsApp API providers compare side by side?

Side by side, UDO is the only rupee-billed provider here whose main plan has no subscription and no setup fee, while AiSensy and Wati charge more than UDO for every marketing message and add a monthly fee on top.

The arithmetic

Which WhatsApp API provider is cheapest in India?

For marketing messages billed in rupees, UDO is the cheapest WhatsApp API provider in India of these five up to about 1.17 lakh messages a month, because it charges ₹0.98 a message and no subscription, so a business pays less on UDO from its very first message.

You can check any subscription plan the same way: divide its monthly fee by the difference between its per-message rate and UDO’s, and that is how many messages you must send before the subscription starts to pay for itself. For Interakt Starter that is ₹1,166 a month ÷ ₹0.01, about 1.17 lakh messages. AiSensy and Wati never catch up, because their per-message rates are higher than UDO’s as well.

Interakt’s ₹3,499 quarterly fee is counted as ₹1,166 a month. Totals exclude any GST and any add-ons such as extra seats or chatbot flows.

With UDO there is nothing to add to these totals: no subscription, no setup fee, and billing only on delivered messages. Every WhatsApp API provider price above is per message, so the table is a like-for-like comparison. Our guide to WhatsApp Business API pricing by message category explains how each category is charged.

What should you check before choosing a WhatsApp API provider?

Before choosing a WhatsApp API provider, check who owns the WhatsApp Business Account, whether the price includes Meta’s fee, whether you pay for sent or delivered messages, how the plan is billed, and how replies will be charged from 1 October 2026.

  • Account ownership. The WhatsApp Business Account should sit in your own Meta business portfolio, so the number stays yours if you change provider.
  • Meta’s fee inside or on top. UDO, Interakt, AiSensy and Wati quote one price that includes Meta’s fee; Gupshup adds its fee to Meta’s. Compare like with like.
  • Sent or delivered. UDO bills per delivered message. Ask any provider that does not state its basis, because failed sends add up at campaign volume.
  • Billing period and seats. A quarterly or annual plan can look cheaper per month than it costs up front, and seat limits range from three users on Wati Growth to unlimited team members on UDO.
  • Replies from 1 October 2026. Meta’s published rate cards from that date include service messages, the replies sent inside the 24-hour customer service window. Ask each provider how its bill will change.
